1/31/08 Devotional Is Jesus In You
wordinsong | January 31, 2008 20:00
Scripture
Galatians 2:20
"I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Devotional
We need to die to the flesh daily, and let Christ dwell in us. The greatest compliment that I have ever been given , was by a lady in a nursing home, when she said "I can see Jesus in you." My prayer for each and every person who reads these devotionals, is that people can see Jesus in you.
Action Point
Let the love of Jesus shine in all that you do.
1/30/08 Devotional Rock Solid
wordinsong | January 30, 2008 19:05
Scripture
Psalm 125:1
Those who trust in the LORD
Are like Mount Zion,
Which cannot be moved, but abides forever.
Devotional
We need to be like the man who built his house on the solid Rock. For if we build our faith on Jesus, we will not be moved when the storms of life rage. On Christ the solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.
Action Point
Trust the Lord. When the storms rage, you will not be moved.
1/29/08 Devotional Law vs Grace
wordinsong | January 29, 2008 19:46
Scripture
Romans 6:14
For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
Devotional
We can be thankful that we are no longer under the law. We are unable to follow every letter of the law, and therefor we are found guilty. Under grace, the penalty is paid in full with the blood of Jesus. The law has not changed, but when we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are forgiven.
Action Point
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? Are your sins forgiven? Put your trust in Jesus today.
1/28/08 Devotional
wordinsong | January 28, 2008 19:45
Scripture
Acts 4:4
However, many of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.
Devotional
The growth of the early church was astounding. It grew from 12 to 5000 in just a short amount of time. Why don't we see this growth in the church today? We need to be preaching the gospel that was first preached by the apostles.
Action Point
Proclaim the word with power.
1/27/08 Devotional Final Outcome
wordinsong | January 27, 2008 19:57
Scripture
Proverbs 27:1
Do not boast about tomorrow,
For you do not know what a day may bring forth.
Devotional
We do not know what tomorrow will bring. To some it may bring wealth and happiness, to others it may bring doom and gloom. The one thing that we know for sure, is that with Jesus the final outcome will be an eternity in heaven.
Action Point
Don't face another day without Jesus.
1/26/08 Devotional Casting Stones
wordinsong | January 26, 2008 17:38
Scripture
John 8:7
So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first."
Devotional
We as Christians are usually the first to point out other peoples sins. In Gods eyes we are all on the same plane. We are all sinners, and are all worthy of death. Isn't it good to know that Jesus paid the penalty for us. We have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.
Action Point
Next time you find fault in a person, remember that we are all sinners. If you have not sinned, then don't cast the stones.
1/25/08 Devotional Is the Church Equipping the saints?
wordinsong | January 25, 2008 20:33
Scripture
Ephesians 4:11-12
And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ
Devotional
It seems to me that a lot of churches are not equipping the saints. We have gotten to a point where the church has become an entertainment industry. They tell the people what they want to hear. The world has been brought into the church, instead of the gospel going out to the world.
Action Point
Get equipped for service. Ask yourself if your church is doing it's job.
1/24/08 Devotional The Price
wordinsong | January 24, 2008 20:08
Scripture
Matthew 26:14-15
Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, "What are you willing to give me if I deliver Him to you?" And they counted out to him thirty pieces of silver.
Devotional
Judas sold out Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. What price are you willing to sell Him out for? Do we skip church for a football game, or maybe skip a Bible study to watch your favorite show. Do you only claim Him as Lord when it is convenient?
Action Point
Don't settle for second best. Put Jesus first.
1/23/08 Devotional
wordinsong | January 23, 2008 19:46
Scripture
Romans 5:19
For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man's obedience many will be made righteous.
Devotional
Sin entered the world when Adam ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. We all being descendants of Adam, bear the seed of sin. By one man's obedience, we as Christians have been found righteous. When Jesus died on the cross, the debt for our sin was paid in full.
Action Point
We are made righteous through the blood of Jesus. Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)
1/22/08 Devotional
wordinsong | January 22, 2008 20:12
Scripture
Isaiah 64:8
But now, O LORD,
You are our Father;
We are the clay, and You our potter;
And all we are the work of Your hand.
Devotional
We are all a work in progress. Just like a potter, God makes us and molds us in to who we are. Sometimes, we are like the clay and go our own direction. It is then that God will take and mare the clay, and begin to reshape us.
Action Point
Be pliable. Let God mold you and make you into a new creation..
