What is the purpose of the Law? We are not saved by it, and we can't keep it. The fact is the law leads to condemnation, and death. The fact is that we can not make it to heaven on our good works. It is impossible. The purpose of the law, is to lead us to Jesus, who is the only way to heaven.
Scripture Reference
Galatians 3:24
the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
Action Point
It is only through faith in Jesus Christ, that we can enter into heaven. If you are trusting in your works to get you into heaven, then you will never make it. Trust In Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior.

Have you ever laid on the ground on a clear summer night and tried counting the stars? It is almost impossible. There are about 8000 stars that are visible to the naked eye, approximately 400 billion stars in the milky way, and there are over 200 billion galaxies. Wow, we serve an awesome God.
Scripture Reference
Psalm 147:4
He counts the number of the stars;
He calls them all by name.
Action Point
Think of how wonderful God is. Even greater than the number of stars, is the great love that He has for you. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

The one thing that I have learned about grocery shopping, is that you never go when you are hungry. When I am not hungry, I look at the food, and say "I don't need that!" When I am hungry, I buy out half the store. In the same way, we need to have a hunger for God, and His righteousness.
Scripture Reference
Matthew 5:6
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.
Action Point
Get hungry and thirsty for God. When we are hungry, we will seek Him more diligently, and will need to get filled.

As my wife and I watched the movie Fire Proof at the theater, I thought of how we are to love our wives. As marriage is a picture of Christ and the church, we are to have an unconditional, sacrificial, and unending love for our wives.
Scripture Reference
Ephesians 5:25
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
Action Point
Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church. Let your marriage be a picture of Christ and the church. Tell her how much you love her, and show that love to her every day. You will grow closer to Christ, and your wives each day.
Just a quick note... Fire Proof is an excellent movie. There wasn't a dry eye in the theater at the end of the movie.

I remember a tree in our yard growing up. At one time it was small enough for me to jump over. It now stands taller than the house. That tree has survived wind, hail, flooding, drought, and even my children. The reason that it stands tall today, is that its roots are firmly planted in the soil. In the same way, our faith needs to be firmly rooted in Jesus.
Scripture Reference
Colossians 2:6-7
As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
Action Point
Grow strong in the Lord. Like that old tree, you will be able to withstand the storms. Your roots will not only help you stand firm, but they will nourish you and supply the food it takes for you to grow stronger in your faith.

Do you know what you believe? Can you tell others with confidence, what you believe, and why? As Christians it is important to know what the bible says, so that you can share it with others. People don't often respond to the words "I think" "maybe" or "I don't know." Be confident in your faith, and share it with boldness.
Scripture Reference
1st Peter 3:15
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;
Action Point
Take the time to write a statement of faith. Search the scriptures, and see for yourself what the Word of God says. It will help you share your faith more effectively. To see this ministry's statement of faith, go to http://wordinsongmusic.org/Statement.html

Often times, being persecuted is the most powerful witness we can have for Christ. While others are persecuting you, people are watching to see how you will respond. When you respond in a Christ like manner, God is glorified, and the other person is exposed for who they really are.
Scripture Reference
Matthew 5:11
"Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.
Action Point
When you are being persecuted, respond in a Christ like manner. God will be glorified, and the devil will be shamed. Count it all joy, because it means you are doing something right.
