What is true worship? Many people think that going to church on Sunday morning is worship. Worship is not just a once a week activity. It needs to be a way of life. Everything that you do should be an act of worship.
Scripture Reference
John 4:23
"But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.
Action Point
We need to worship God with all that is in us. Our lives should be a banner for Christ. We can worship Him any time, and any where. We don't need a building, or a special time. You can worship Him right where you are. The time is now.

When it comes to God, it seems everyone has an excuse. Preachers will tell you that they have heard it all. I'm too tired to go to church, I worked all week, and let's not forget my favorite. The Dallas Cowboys are playing, and I don't want to miss the kickoff. There will be no excuses before God.
Scripture Reference
Luke 14:18
"But they all with one accord began to make excuses. The first said to him, 'I have bought a piece of ground, and I must go and see it. I ask you to have me excused.'
Action Point
The invitation has been delivered. Will you accept the invitation, or will you make an excuse. This is a limited time offer. The second you die, the invitation expires.

As the kids go back to school, it is important to stress the need for studying the Word of God. Education doesn't just stop at a certain age. Even as an adult, I am continually learning. The more I study the Bible, the more I want to know.
Scripture Reference
1st Timothy 3:14
But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them,
Action Point
We need to be in the Word of God every day. It is a continuing education. God will continue to teach you every day, as long as you let Him teach you.

The United States has more Bibles per household than any other nation. Why is it then, that we have so many people that know little or nothing about the Word of God? There is a famine in our land. People are hungering for the Word of God.
Scripture Reference
Amos 8:11
"Behold, the days are coming," says the Lord GOD, "That I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for water, But of hearing the words of the LORD.
Action Point
The one thing about a famine, is that it makes people hungry. If you don't eat for a few day's, you will get hungry. When you finally get fed, you will cherish what you have been missing. Feast every day on the Word of God.

Before I was saved, I had a whole different way of thinking. I had my own theology. I thought that I could get to heaven by going to church, and doing good works. When I received Jesus as my Lord and Savior, that old way of thinking went out the window. It is only by grace, through the precious blood of Jesus, that I can get to heaven.
Scripture Reference
1st Corinthians 5:7
Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.
Action Point
When you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are transformed. I am no longer the man I used to be. The stench of sin has been removed, and I am made new by the cleansing blood of Jesus. Trust in Jesus today, and let His blood wash you white as snow.

Devotional
There is no such thing as self righteousness in God's eyes. We are either righteous, or we are sinners. We can not get to heaven on our own righteousness. We will never make it. It is only through the shed blood of Jesus, that we can enter into God's presence.
Scripture Reference
Philippians 3:9
and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;
Action Point
The only righteousness there is, is through Jesus. Any thing that we do is rubbish to God. It isn't about what we do. It's about what has been done. Three nails plus one cross equals forgiveness.

I used to go to a lot of gospel singings. You could always tell the ones who were singing for the Lord, and the ones who were singing to be seen by people. When you are up front, all the people see is you. When you step back, the people will see Jesus.
Scripture Reference
John 3:30
"He must increase, but I must decrease.
Action Point
Jesus needs to be the center of attention. When you live a Christ centered life, the only thing people should see is Jesus. He must increase, but I must decrease.

Devotional
I hope the title of this devotional got your attention. The fact is we spend too much time going to church, and not enough time bringing the church to others. Jesus never said, stay, and I will bring them to you. He commanded us to Go. We can't let our light shine before men, when we keep it inside a building.
Scripture Reference
Mathew 5:16
"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Action Point
Yes, we do need to go to church, but more important, is that we bring the church to others. Take time this week to share the gospel with others. Let them see the light that shines in you. Don't hide it under a bushel.

Have you ever had something so wonderful happen, that you couldn't stop talking about it? I know that I still talk about the day my children were born, and the day I got married. The fact is these things are minor compared to the wonder of what Jesus did for me on the cross.
Scripture Reference
Psalm 34:1
I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Action Point
We can never praise the Lord enough for saving us. The gift that you receive, when you ask Jesus in your heart is the most wonderful gift you will ever receive. I can't stop talking about it. I can't stop praising Him for it.
