Devotional
All the things on this earth have no eternal value. Money, cars, houses, and big screen TV's will all turn to dust someday. Our only true treasure is found through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. That treasure is an eternity in heaven with God.
Scripture Reference
Matthew 19:21
Jesus said to him, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me."
Action Point
The young man that Jesus was talking to had put his trust in the things of this world. Where have you put your trust? Is your trust in things, or is your trust in Jesus? Jesus is the only way to heaven. Follow Him and you will find real treasure.

Living in Texas, we know what happens when you have a poor foundation. You can build a building, but after a few years the foundation starts to crumble. In order to have a strong building that will last, we need to have a firm foundation. In the same way, if your faith is not built on the Solid Rock, it will eventually crumble and disintegrate.
Scripture Reference
Matthew 7:24
"Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:
Action Point
On Christ the Solid Rock I stand; all other ground is sinking sand. Is your faith built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness? Build your faith on the Rock. Then when the storms come your way and the winds begin to blow, you will have a faith that will hold up through even the worst of storms.

I was going through a store this evening, and I passed someone that I thought I had forgiven. As I passed this person, I thought about Peter in the Garden of Gethsemane. Sometimes when we are weak, and not prayed up, our flesh kicks in. When we let our guard down, the devil will try to attack. When we pray the Devil will flee.
Scripture Reference
Matthew 26:41
"Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."
Action Point
Don't give the devil a foothold in your life. Pray, and the devil will flee. Put on the full armor of God. (Romans 6:13-16) The flesh may be weak, but remember Philippians 4:13. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

We should never bring an offering before the Lord, out of obligation or guilt. God is not after our money or our riches. God wants our hearts. Give out of Love, from your heart. If it is not given willingly, it is no longer an offering.
Scripture Reference
Exodus 25:1-2
Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: "Speak to the children of Israel, that they bring Me an offering. From everyone who gives it willingly with his heart you shall take My offering.
Action Point
Give to God out of love. Support your local churches and ministries. Be willing to offer your time, and talents, as well as your finances.

Many of us have had times in our lives when we have drifted away from God. A time when we were not as close to Him as we once were. The Father longs for our fellowship. He is waiting with arms open wide to receive us. If you are a Christian, but out of fellowship with the Father, He is waiting for you to come back to Him.
Scripture Reference
Luke 15:20
"And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.
Action Point
Seek a closer relationship with the Father. If you are one of His children, then you have a relationship with the Father. Nothing can change that. He is waiting for you to come home to Him.
