Proverbs 1:10

My son, if sinners entice you, Do not consent.

Devotional

People today are being enticed continually by sin. We see it every day. TV, billboards, video games, music, and books. We are surrounded by it every day. We need to just say NO. We can't avoid sin, but we can chose not to participate.

Action Point

Do not chose to participate in sin. Just say NO!

1st Timothy 6:10

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Devotional

Money by it self is not evil. We can use money to buy things we need, to help other people, and to build God's kingdom. It's the love of money that causes all kinds of evil. When we start to love money, our focus is turned away from other things.

Action Point

Money may come and go, but God will never leave us, nor forsake us. Which one will you choose to worship?

Ephesians 4:1

I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called,

Devotional

Why is it that you see so many people walking around looking defeated? Paul was in prison, and yet he is telling the Ephesians to walk worthy of there calling. As Christians, the battle has already been won through the blood of Jesus.

Action Point

O victory in Jesus, my Savior forever. He sought me, and He bought me with His redeeming blood. The victory has been won, is all you have to do is claim it.

1st Corinthians 15:10

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

Devotional

We can not change our past. Paul was the chief of sinners according to 1st Timothy 1:15. Paul could not change who he was, but God did. It was because of who Paul was, and the transformation in his life, that God was able to use him in a mighty way.

Action Point

We don't have to be perfect to be used by God. Sometimes it's our imperfections that God uses. Let God use you today.

Matthew 16:26

For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

Devotional

So many times we put our trust in things. We can trust in riches, or in idols. We trust our car to start when we turn the key, we trust our lights to go on when we flip the switch. We can trust in a lot of things, but trusting in Jesus is the only way to get to heaven.

Action Point

Are you trusting in things, or are you putting your trust in Jesus? Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Devotional

As the old year is coming to an end, and a new year begins, take the time to to reflect on your life. Just like the old year passes, and the new one comes, God can change our lives completely.

Action Point

Make a new start for the new year. Trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

Psalm 119:105

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Devotional

We need to be led by the word of God. When we take a road trip, we use a map to find our way. In our relationship with Jesus, we need the Word of God to lead the way. We can't do it our way. Only one road leads to eternal life, and that is Jesus.

Action Point

Read the road map that God has given us.

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

Devotional

Through Jesus we are redeemed. When we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior we are making a u-turn. As we turn from sin, we make a 180 degree turn towards God.

Action Point

Make a new beginning. Turn from sin and turn towards God.

Luke 6:38

"Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you."

Devotional

God wants us to give of ourselves daily. We are not just to give money, but we are to give of our time, and talents. When we give of ourselves we are going to be blessed. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over.

Action Point

Take time to give of yourself to others. Be a blessing, and receive a blessing.
