Thirty Second Devotions

12/26/07 Devotional

Scripture
Ruth 2:12
"The LORD repay your work, and a full reward be given you by the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings you have come for refuge."
Devotional
There is a reward for the faithful. I am not talking about a prosperity gospel, but about the crown of glory we will receive when we get to Heaven. Ruth was faithful to her mother-in-law, and her works were well known. She sought refuge in the fields owned by Boaz, and was repaid generously.
Action Point
Be a person of faith. God will repay you. One day you may hear the words "Well done thy good and faithful servant."

Merry Christmas

wordinsong | December 21, 2007 21:08

I want to wish you all a very merry Christmas. This been a year filled with many blessings. I began this ministry in May, and have learned a lot, as I am sure many of you have as well. I currently have 60 people who receive these devotions via e-mail and several others via my blog site. I was also licensed as a Baptist minister in August.
I pray that God will continue to bless this ministry, and everyone that is touched by it. Please continue to pray for this ministry.
I will not be sending out devotions again till the 26th, so have a safe and a merry Christmas.
God bless

12/20/07 Devotional

wordinsong | December 20, 2007 20:36

Scripture
Luke 2:15
So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, "Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us."
Devotional
The invitation is still open to all. Come to Bethlehem and see. Come to Jesus. He is Emanuel (God with us). He came to save us from our sins. He came to pay the price. All we need to do is to come to Him.
Action Point
Come and worship the new born King. Come to Jesus.

Survey

wordinsong | December 19, 2007 20:04

I would appreciate it if you could just take a few minutes out of your day to answer a few questions in order to evaluate the effectiveness of this ministry.
1. Do you feel that the devotions are clear and understandable?
2. Are you able to apply the devotions to your life?
3. Do you send the devotions on to other people? If so how many?
4. Do you have any suggestions on how this ministry could be more effective?
5. Do you have any other comments that you would like to add?
Thank you in advance for taking the time to answer these questions. Your input is important in helping to reach others for Christ. Please feel free to send the devotions to people on your e-mail list. Pelase note that your information will be kept confidential.
Thanks and have a blessed day.

12/19/07 Devotional

Scripture
Luke 2:13-14
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!"
Devotional
The angels were praising God and saying "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!" Jesus came to earth to bring peace. We were separated from God by sin. Jesus came to bridged the gap between us and God. Romans 6:23 says, For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Action Point
It's a matter of life and death. Which will you chose?

Prayer Request

wordinsong | December 18, 2007 20:28

Please pray for Bill Wade who is in hospice care with congestive heart failure. Pray for a miracle of healing to be done in his life.

12/18/07 Devotional

wordinsong | December 18, 2007 20:24

Scripture
Luke 2:12
"And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger."
Devotional
God provides us with many signs and wonders. The fact is that many do not believe unless they see a sign from God. This was proof positive that what the angel said was true.
Action Point
Share how God has done in your life. I know that my redeemer lives because I can see what He has done.

12/17/07 Devotional

wordinsong | December 18, 2007 11:54

Scripture
Luke 2:11
"For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
Devotional
A Savior is born. Jesus wasn't just another baby. Jesus was the Savior who came to take away the sin of the world. He came to Earth in the lowliest place, but He sits in the greatest place of honor.
Action Point
Jesus came to die on the cross for our sins. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life. Jesus paid the price. We as Christians are covered by the blood. God no longer sees our sins. The gift is free. All we have to do is receive it.

12/16/07 Devotional

wordinsong | December 16, 2007 19:11

Scripture
Luke 2:10
Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.
Devotional
The angel was proclaiming the birth of the Messiah. The important thing to notice in this scripture are the last six words. The angel concludes "which will be to all people." We need to come to Jesus just as we are. The Gospel is for everyone. Salvation is for those who receive Jesus as Lord and Savior.
Action Point
Remember, the vilest offender who truly believes, that moment from Jesus a pardon receives. It doesn't matter where you have been. What matters is where you go from here.
