Thirty Second Devotions

Devotional
We often times will have many reasons for not doing what God has called us to do. We say; I can't do it. It is too hard. Jeremiah said "I cannot speak, for I am a youth." God will not call you to do something, then leave you to do it all on your own. He will be there with you.
 
Scripture Reference
Jeremiah 1:6-7
Then said I:   "Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth."  But the LORD said to me:   "Do not say, 'I am a youth,' For you shall go to all to whom I send you, And whatever I command you, you shall speak.
 
Action Point
God will give you what you need, when you need it. Trust in His will, and heed the call. He will give you the words to say, and the strength to accomplish what He has called you to do.

Devotional
What is motivating you, when you pray in public? Is it to keep up appearances, or is it just a ritual? We need to pray with a sincere heart. God knows our motives when we pray. Ask yourself this one question. Why am I praying? If it is to please men, then you are praying for the wrong reason.
 
Scripture Reference
Matthew 6:5
"And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.
 
Action Point
Before you pray in public, ask God to guide you. Pray to Him, and no one else. Be sincere, and don't try to please the people around you. Pray to God, and only Him.

Devotional
Have you ever started to do something, and something told you not too? Have you ever felt that you needed to do something, yet no one told you to do it? Often times the Holy Spirit will guide us. You don't need to search the scriptures, and no amount of study can teach you like the Holy Spirit can.
 
 
Scripture Reference
1st John 2:27
But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.
 
Action Point
Listen to what the Holy Spirit is saying to you. Let it guide you, and direct you in all that you do. You cant get it buy studying, or by being taught. It is only by His power.

Please be in prayer for Judi Eckert. They found a mass on her ovary. Pray that it is not cancer. Please pray for the doctors, and nurses that are treating her.

Devotional
I remember when my boys were little. Anything that I said, they would believe. They didn't ask questions, or even doubt me for a minute. God wants us to come to him with that same faith. If our Father says it, then it must be true.

Mark 10:15
"Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it."
 
Action Point
It is only by faith in Jesus, that we can enter into heaven. There is no other way. There is nothing that I can do to earn my way to heaven. I can't even buy my way into heaven. It is only by faith in Jesus, and nothing more. Place your faith in Him today.

Devotional
Do you ever get discouraged when things don't go our way? I know that I often do. It is a natural response.  The fact is, that God has everything under control. We just need to learn to trust Him.
 
Scripture Reference
Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
 
Action Point
God has a plan. We may be going through a situation right now, but in the end God's plan is still the best. If we Love Him, and trust Him, He will provide what we need.

Devotional
When I started preaching, I often times felt unworthy to preach the gospel. I was not a great speaker, and I got nervous in front of people. I soon learned that God would give me the words to say. As I write these devotionals, It is God who guides my hands. He gives me the words to write.

Exodus 4:11-12
So the LORD said to him, "Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the LORD? "Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say."
 
Action Point
As ministers of the gospel, we need to remember to rely on the LORD to guide and direct us. Anything that I say or do is worthless if Christ is not in it.  What counts, is what the LORD does through me.

Many poor people are richer than the richest man on earth. The rich may have lots of things, but the poor have Love, Joy, and peace.

Psalm 37:16
A little that a righteous man has Is better than the riches of many wicked.
 
Action Point
Set the riches of this world aside. Things will not make you happy. It is only the love of Jesus, and each other that will bring true joy to your life.

Devotional
Let's face it, the Bible is not politically correct. The Word of God is true. Even though this scripture speaks to the wives, it applies to all of us. We need to win souls through our Christ like conduct. Our actions speak louder than words.

1st Peter 3:1
Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives,
 
 
Action Point
We can be a great witness for Jesus without saying a word. Let people see the Jesus in you. The change has to start with you. When others see your conduct, they will want to know what you have. When they ask, you can say; I have Jesus.

Our mind is often times the first place the devil will attack. We need to guard our minds with the faith that we have in Jesus Christ. Be ready for battle at all times. Rest your hope fully in His grace.

Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
 
Action Point
When the devil attacks, we need to be ready. Know who you are in Jesus Christ. Remember that light will always triumph over darkness.
