Scripture
Matthew 26:1-2
Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, that He said to His disciples, "You know that after two days is the Passover, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified."
Devotional
In the book of Exodus, the PPassover lamb was a picture of Jesus. Notice Jesus says that after two days is the Passover and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified. The Lamb of God was to shed the blood that would cover our sins and wash us white as snow.
Action Point
Let the blood of the Lamb wash your sins away. Romans 9:22 says; And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.

Scripture
Galatians 3:13
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"),
Devotional
Paul is quoting from Deuteronomy 21:22-23. Jesus was destined for the cross to become a curse for us. With every stripe, hit, insult, and spike, Jesus bore our sin upon His body. He bore all our sins; past, present, and future. We deserve to be on the cross. but He paid the debt for us.
Action Point
As believers, we have been redeemed. Live in the victory. Know that your sins are forgiven.

Scripture
Numbers 21:8
Then the LORD said to Moses, "Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live."
Devotional
The Old Testament is full of prophesies about Jesus and the crucifixion. We see this scripture referenced in John 3:14-15 "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, "that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.. Just like the people who were bitten were saved by looking up in faith, we must also look to Jesus in faith.
Action Point
Look to Jesus and live.

Scripture
Exodus 12:5
'Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats.
Devotional
Jesus is the lamb of God who was sacrificed on the cross. Jesus lived a sinless life, and was the lamb without spot or blemish. Hebrews 9:14 says how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Action Point
We can not live a life without sin. It is impossible. The only way to heaven is through faith in Jesus. Trust in Him today.

Scripture
Exodus 12:13
'Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.
Devotional
In order to fully understand the journey to the cross, we need to start in the Old Testament. The Passover is a picture of what Jesus has done for us. Our sins are covered by the blood. According to Hebrews 9:22 And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.
Action Point
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? Are your sins forgiven? Trust in the blood of the Lamb to cover your sin.

Scripture
John 19:30
So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
Devotional
What is finished? The Lamb of God had been sacrificed. The price for our sins had been paid for with the blood of Jesus. There was no longer a need to sacrifice animals for the forgiveness if sin. Jesus paid it all. IT IS FINISHED......
Action Point
Trust in the blood of Jesus. It covers your sin and mine.
Please join me in the next few weeks as we study the journey to the cross.

Scripture
1st Corinthians 3:12-13
Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is.
Devotional
Our works will be tried through the fire. Notice the materials listed in this scripture. Gold, silver, and precious stones are refined in the fire. Wood hay and straw will be burnt up in the fire. How will your works stack up? Will they be refined in the fire or burnt up?
Action Point
Build the church on the solid foundation of Jesus. When the trials come, the church will become stronger.

Scripture
2nd Chronicles 30:8
"Now do not be stiff-necked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves to the LORD; and enter His sanctuary, which He has sanctified forever, and serve the LORD your God, that the fierceness of His wrath may turn away from you.
Devotional
I was driving down the road the other day and I saw another car cut right in front of a police car. I am sure the person knew the law, but chose to be disobedient. We are the same way with God. We know His laws, but we do not obey them. The only way that we can be justified is through a relationship with Jesus.
Action Point
Yield yourself to the LORD. Receive Jesus today.

Scripture
Philippians 2:12
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;
Devotional
Personality is who you are when other people are watching. Character is who you are when no one is watching. You can act like a Christian all you want, but the true measure is who you are when you are all alone. Only you and God know if you are saved by the blood of Jesus.
Action Point
Be a person of character before God. You can fake it before men, but that won't make it before God.

Scripture
1st Samuel 17:45
Then David said to the Philistine, "You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.
Devotional
David was facing a giant. How could a small child defeat him with just a sling and a stone? So many times we feel we are small and the situations are to great for us to overcome. With God in our corner, we can overcome any giants that may stand before us.
Action Point
Face the Giants. If God is for us, then who can be against us. (Romans 8:31)
