Devotional
When is the last time that you spent intimate time with God. Often times we get so busy doing other things, that we forget. Maybe I will do it later. God will understand that I am just too busy today. Don't neglect the most important things in life. Spend time with God. Just you and Him.
Scripture Reference
Matthew 6:6
But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
Action Point
God desires to hear from His children. He is only a prayer away. All you have to do is talk, and He will listen. There is no busy signal, and there will be no machine to say "will you please hold." The direct line is always open.

As the storms came through our area tonight, I thought of how our lives often times resemble the storms. The winds blow, the lightning strikes, and the thunder rolls. We are often times tossed about like a boat by the things of this world. When we trust in the LORD, He calms the storm.
Scripture Reference
Psalm 107:28-29
Then they cry out to the LORD in their trouble, And He brings them out of their distresses. He calms the storm, So that its waves are still.
Action Point
Life is full of storms. Some last only a few moments, while others seem to last a lifetime. When you trust in the LORD, he will calm the storms, and make the turbulent waters calm. He will give you a peace that surpasses all understanding.

Do you remember as a child, playing my dad is better than your dad. It would start out with one child bragging about their dad, and each child would try to out do the other. The disciples were trying to out do each other. They wanted to know how was the greatest. Imagine their faces when Jesus said "If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all."
Scripture Reference
Mark 9:34-35
But they kept silent, for on the road they had disputed among themselves who would be the greatest. And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, "If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all."
Action Point
Often times we get caught up in trying to be the greatest. The fact is, when we are serving others, instead of ourselves, people will see us at our best. Find Joy in serving others. Take the time to put others first. It is only then that you will find true greatness.

I remember as a child up in Minnesota, how we would build snow forts, and have snow ball fights. We knew that if we stayed in the snow forts, we would be safe from the snow balls that were being thrown at us. The minute we left the protection of the fort, we would surly get hit. If we abide in the LORD, then we are in a safe place.
Scripture Reference
Nahum 1:7
The LORD is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knows those who trust in Him.
Action Point
The LORD knows those who trust Him. He provides a safe place for us to go. When we are in Him, the devil may attack us, but we are protected. Abide in Him, and He will protect you.

How can two separate people become one? It is the same way that we are made a part of God's family. We are grafted in. When the two are married, they are joined together. The longer they are together, the stronger that bond becomes. They grow together, and they both bear fruit together.
Scripture Reference
Mark 10:8
'and the two shall become one flesh'; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh.
Action Point
The marriage is a picture of God's love for us. Just as a husband, and wife are joined in marriage, we are to be joined to the body of Christ. We are in Christ, and He is in us.
