Thirty Second Devotions

Your Statement of Faith 9/24/2008 Devotional

wordinsong | September 24, 2008 17:34

Devotional
Do you know what you believe? Can you tell others with confidence, what you believe, and why? As Christians it is important to know what the bible says, so that you can share it with others. People don't often respond to the words "I think" "maybe" or "I don't know."  Be confident in your faith, and share it with boldness.

Scripture Reference
1st Peter 3:15
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;

Action Point
Take the time to write a statement of faith. Search the scriptures, and see for yourself what the Word of God says. It will help you share your faith more effectively. To see this ministry's statement of faith, go to http://wordinsongmusic.org/Statement.html

Hear I Am Lord 9/23/2008 Devotional

wordinsong | September 23, 2008 19:26

Devotional
How many of us have a heart to serve like Isaiah? If you are a Christian, God has put a calling on your life. Will you heed the call, and do what God asks of you, or will you say, not today.

Scripture Reference
Isaiah 6:8
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

Action Point
Christianity is not for spectators. We need to be participants. God said GO. Go and make disciples of all nations. Go and preach the gospel. Here I am Lord. Send me.

A Witness In Persecution 9/22/2008 Devotional

wordinsong | September 22, 2008 18:12

Devotional
Often times, being persecuted is the most powerful witness we can have for Christ. While others are persecuting you, people are watching to see how you will respond. When you respond in a Christ like manner, God is glorified, and the other person is exposed for who they really are.

Scripture Reference
Matthew 5:11
"Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.

Action Point
When you are being persecuted, respond in a Christ like manner. God will be glorified, and the devil will be shamed. Count it all joy, because it means you are doing something right.

God's Correction 9/21/2008 Devotional

wordinsong | September 21, 2008 19:50

Devotional
As a child I never liked being corrected. It wasn't always pleasant, but I learned as time went on that I learned from being corrected. God, through the Holy Spirit will chasten us as well. God will not come down and slap our hands, but He will let us know when we are doing wrong.

Scripture Reference
Hebrews 12:11
Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

Action Point

Even though our heavenly Father may correct us from time to time, we need to receive it with joy. A good father who loves his children, will correct them. Our heavenly father corrects us because He loves us.

Armor of Light 9/20/2008 Devotional

wordinsong | September 20, 2008 13:38

Devotional
As my wife and I walked through a store today, I saw a woman with a Christian t-shirt on. As we stopped and talked to her, it was evident that she had put on the armor of light. It had nothing to do with the t-shirt. It had everything to do with the evidence of Christ in her life.

Scripture Reference
Romans 13:12
The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.

Action Point

When you go out in public, is it evident that you are a Christian? Are the fruits of the Spirit evident in your life? Let the light of Jesus shine in your daily walk.

By His Power 9/19/2008 Devotional

wordinsong | September 19, 2008 19:29

Devotional
I remember several years ago, ministering at a leukemia unit at a hospital in Dallas. As I visited the rooms, I met a pastor, who taught this young minister about the power of God. He left a lasting impression on me, as he ministered to me from that hospital bed.

Scripture Reference
2nd Timothy 4:17
But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. And I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

Action Point
When we have no strength left, we can call on the Lord, and He will enable us. It is only through His power, that we are able to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is when we are week, that He is made strong.

24/7 356 days a year 9/18/2008 Devotional

wordinsong | September 18, 2008 18:16

Devotional
Have you ever needed to talk to someone? You call and they aren't there. You look for them, and they are nowhere to be found. Praise God that we always have a freind to talk to. When we call He always answers, and when we look for Him, He is always there.

Scripture Reference
Jeremiah 29:12-13
Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

Action Point
Seek God. He is always there. You can call Him in the middle of the night, or even at supper time. He is available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Dont worry, He is even available 366 days on a leap year.

Physical and Spiritual Healing 9/17/2008 Devotional

wordinsong | September 17, 2008 18:39

Devotional
When I was saved, Jesus opened my eyes, He lifted me up, He cleansed me from my sins, He opened up my ears to hear his words, and He took a man that was once dead, and made him alive in Christ Jesus.

Scripture Reference
Matthew 11:5
"The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

Action Point
Trust In Jesus today for the healing you need. Weather you need physical, or spiritual healing, Jesus is the answer. He has the power to do both. He raised Lazarus from the dead, and He take a man dead in sin, and make him alive in Him.

Mirror Mirror 9/16/2008 Devotional

wordinsong | September 16, 2008 19:17

Devotional
Mirror mirror on the wall. Who's the farest of them all? Only in a fairytale, will a mirror lie to you. When you look in to a mirror, you will see the real you. You see what the rest of the world sees.

Scripture Reference

1st Corinthians 13:12
For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

Action Point
When is the last time you looked in a mirror? Did you notice the imperfections. Was the person staring back at you, the person you expected? We need to examine ourselves in the mirror. Only then will we see who we really are.

God Wants You 9/15/2008 Devotional

wordinsong | September 15, 2008 18:25

Devotional
I praise God for His mercy, and grace every day. If I had gotten what I deserved, when I deserved it, I would not be here today. Under God's law, I am guilty. The wages of sin is death. I also thank God for the free gift of salvation which I don't deserve.

Scripture Reference
2nt Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Action Point
The free gift of salvation is free to those who are willing to receive it. Every day is an opportunity to share Jesus with others. God is not willing that any should perish, but there will come a day, when God will call His children home.
